Southern California Edison customers have also been largely unaware, as Southern CA media has not widely covered this topic, that the CPUC passed a PG&E for fee opt-out to analog plan. PG&E customers have been better informed, with nearly 1,000 articles published by media in their area, to date.
SCE has a current opt-out proposal being considered, to be voted on by CPUC commissioners soon (Feb. or Mar, 2012). We advise that you write and call them, as above. The opt-out will likely be consistent with the PG&E decision and statewide. There will be several phases, with the next one determining if entire communities can opt-out and the final costs.
